Today is the 1st of May and every year on this day we got used to open a new season at Kyiv Zoo. Unfortunately due to russian horde invasion now we are closed for visitors but we hope to invite all of you very soon!
From the first day of the war the zoo staff has been with animals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Many thanks to our employees for this! There are many difficulties and challenges for us as zoologists and as Ukrainians. And every day brings new challenges but we hold on and like the whole country we believe in the victory of Ukrainian Armed Forces and our people!
Sincere thanks to all those who support Kyiv Zoo in this incredibly difficult time – to our friends, government and city institutions, partners, European colleagues, international organisations, volunteers and all those caring people from around the world who help us!
We saved our animals and our zoo, and we continue to do our best for their health, comfort and well-being. We also have a replenishment – cubs were born that is always nice because life goes on in spite of everything. During the war we rescued and sheltered 141 animals and now provide rehabilitation and treat them.
We keep telling about the life of the zoo and our beautiful animals and are looking forward to meet you at Kyiv Zoo!
