Kyiv Day
Tomorrow Kyiv will celebrate its another birthday. This year, unfortunately, this celebration is provided in war conditions. The history of our zoo is an integral part of the overall history of the capital. And already for the third time in 115 years since foundation, Kyiv Zoo together with native Kyiv is undergoing these military trials.
In these difficult times our team remains united and strong. Some of our employees are taking care of animals in the zoo 24/7. Some of our employees without sleep and weekends maintain the zoo’s equipment and networks, providing heat, water and light. Some employees are growing fresh greens in the gardens, created just near the enclosures. Some employees are searching for the necessary products in retail chains and surrounding farmers. And all these efforts are aimed at providing comfort living conditions to our animals. We want them to feel well-fed, cared, loved and satisfied.
For the second week we are happy to welcome visitors and conduct extensive social work. Charitable events for the children and families of our Defenders, displaced children and victims of hostilities are our small contribution to the common fight and future victory.
Of course, the number of visitors has essentially decreased compared to the peacetime. People suffer, enterprises suffer, cities suffer. So this year we did not increase the tickets price.
Like all Ukraine, we are in a state of austerity. That is why we are always very grateful for your help and donations. Friends – you are incredible!
We are sure that thanks to you and our joint efforts, Kyiv will survive and the Kyiv Zoo will live!
