Independence Day of Ukraine

Independence Day of Ukraine

Today, Ukraine celebrates its biggest public holiday – its 31st birthday 💙💛

This is not just a country birth celebration. This is a day of remembrance of entire generations of Ukrainians who fought for the right to live in their own state.

This year, we celebrate Independence Day in conditions of war. News about enemy shelling, constant air warning signals overshadow this holiday. However, we know that we are fighting for a worthy cause, everyone is defending their native land on their own front.

Since the first day of war, the zoo staff has been close to their wards around the clock. And every day brings new challenges, but we hold on, and like the whole country, we believe in the Victory of the Armed Forces and Our people!

We saved our animals and our zoo, and we will keep doing everything possible for their health, comfort and well-being.

We are very thankful to everyone who supports Kyiv Zoo in this incredibly difficult time – our friends, state and city institutions, partners, European colleagues, international organizations, volunteers and all those caring people from all over the world who help us!

Ukraine is an independent, free, indivisible state. And it will always be like that!
Happy Holidays, dear country!
Glory to Heroes! Glory to Ukraine! 🇺🇦
